RFQ
Getting Your Project Started
Every project begins with a conversation.
Whether you’re ready to place an order, evaluating suppliers, or still refining a design, our team can provide guidance early in the process to help you make informed manufacturing decisions.
To begin an RFQ, we typically need:
- Part drawings or CAD files
- Customer requirements and specifications
- Target pricing goals (if available)
Once received, our team performs a detailed review to determine manufacturability, validate customer requirements, evaluate materials and outside processes, and develop production time estimates.
The result is a quote built around the realities of your project, not assumptions.
Engineering Review
Engineering Before Production
Before any material is cut…
We invest time in planning the manufacturing process. This stage is where we develop the systems that drive consistency throughout the life of the project.
Our Planning Process Includes:
- Technical feasibility review
- Manufacturing process development
- CAM programming
- Inspection planning
- Tooling and fixture design
- Production routing and ERP setup
Many shops move directly from quote to programming. At DMW, we believe upfront planning helps eliminate problems before they reach the shop floor.
PPAP
Production Part Approval Process
Only after a process is validated does full production move forward.
Once an order is released, we establish the documentation and quality controls needed to support repeatable production.
Our PPAP process may include:
- 3D manufacturing models
- Inspection bubble drawings
- Inspection entry sheets
- Control plans
- Measurement and instrumentation requirements
- Job travelers and production documentation
Before production begins, the first completed part undergoes a comprehensive inspection to verify it meets all engineering and customer requirements.
Production quality
Built-In Quality at Every Stage
Quality doesn’t happen during final inspection.
It happens throughout the entire manufacturing process. After first article approval, documented control plans guide production to maintain consistency across every order. Regular inspections are performed throughout manufacturing, followed by final inspection before shipment.
